Hall of Fame pitcher Shinjiro Iguchi first became famous as captain of the Wakayama high school team. He lead the team to both the 1921 and
1922 National High School Championships at Koshien. He then joined the Waseda University baseball team in 1923. He was inducted into the
Hall of Fame in 1998. This bromide is glued to backing paper. The reverse (backing paper) contains an October 1924
date and also has a stamp from "Tonichi Investigative Division". We believe that Tonichi was a news organization which was a forerunner of the Mainichi Shimbun, but we are not positive. Iguchi's name is also handwritten in kanji on the back.
