Mizuhara has Hall of Fame credentials as both a player and a manager. From 1936 to 1942 he was the Yomiuri Giants' 3rd baseman, winning the
league MVP award in 1942. By the time the award was announced, Mizuhara was already fighting in the Japanese army. He was captured and
spent four years as a POW in Siberia. From 1950 to 1960, he was Giants manager, winning eight pennants and four Japan Series titles. Kawase was Keio University's top catcher in 1928 and 1929. Blank backed.
