The Los Angeles Dodgers traveled to Japan in 1966 to play a series of 18 games at 14 different stadiums. This poster advertises the five games played at Korakuen Stadium in Tokyo--October 22nd and 23rd against the Yomiuri Giants, and
November 3rd, 5th and 6th against the Japanese All-Stars. This is the first 1966 Tour poster we have seen to date. It would be an important addition to the collection of any Dodgers or Japan Tour afficianado. The
Dodgers finished the tour with nine wins, eight losses and one tie. This was considered to be a surprising result at the time, given previous Tour results, and the (incorrectly) perceived weakness of the Japanese team by American
commentators of the era.
