Yamashita is featured here as a member of Keio University. Subsequently, he joined the Hankyu team of Japan Pro Baseball in the league's inaugural 1936 season, winning the fall season home run title with only two round trippers! He retired in 1942 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1987. "Home run" is printed in Japanese on the right side of the card. Yamashita was known as the Japanese Babe Ruth because of his home run prowess in college. "Keio" and "Yamashita" are printed along the top edge. This uncatalogued card has the menko number 7500. The JRM 60 set has an R5 scarcity factor rating in the Japanese Baseball Card Checklist and Price Guide, which means that three or fewer examples are known of most cards in the set. While 15 other cards were previously catalogued, this is the first and only example of the Yamashita card uncovered to date.
